This Week In Recovery Lesson will focus on the person of Jesus Christ who is in fact our Sympathetic Savior. This will require you to read the FFM Series article, Sympathetic Savior… Christ’s Humanity. Click here to read the article. Then return to this TWIRL activity.
Having read the article, you are prepared to answer the following questions:
- What do you think it means that Jesus became fully human?
- What all did it cost Jesus to become fully human?
- What all did cost God the Father to send His only Son?
- What do you think the childhood of Jesus consisted of?
- What kind of relationship would you imagine Jesus had with his parents?
- At what point might you think that Jesus fully understood who he was as the Son of God?
- What kind of temptation to sin do you think Jesus wrestled with throughout his thirty plus years of human experience?
- As a man of flesh with human desire, what would you say about his human desires and intentions?
- Could Jesus sin? Why or why not?
- If you answered “no” to the sin question, I have to ask: How could Jesus be tempted to sin if he could not sin? If you answered “yes”, I have to ask: How is it that the Son of God could sin?
- List the ways that Jesus Christ can sympathize with you, today.
